I am a mom! I blog! I guess that makes me a mom blogger, mom that blogs or my least favorite term ‘mommy blogger’. That pretty much says it all doesn’t it? No? Want to know more about me? Well, my boys are now 11 and 13. I am a former public school teacher and have a Masters in Education. I consider myself an “accidental homeschooler” because we probably never would have started this path if my younger son had not become too sick a few years ago to continue in school.
I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. I met my husband when I was 15 on the front steps of a church. I told my parents the day we met that I was going to marry him someday. Don’t ask me how I knew, I just did. 6 years later we were married and 3 years after that our first son was born. So, yeah, I guess if you do a little math you can figure out how old I am. I will leave that to you ambitious ones.
We lived in the Las Vegas area for seven years. However, we moved to Colorado in 2008 for my husbands work. Still not in love with our new state but I am enjoying meeting new friends.
I own and operate my own company, Chaotic Communications, LLC., from home. I guess the best way you can explain what I do is online media publishing (I get paid to blog, create communities, review products, recommend things, and give away stuff). Pretty sweet gig, if I say so myself. Chaotic Communications owns many websites but the three that take up most of my time are:
BeTweenTalk-Connor started this when he was 11 for tweens (kids ages 8-13). The boys are both active in running the site.
TheCouponCupboard-fun little money saving site. Join the forum and we can show you how to save lots of money on everyday purchases.
SpinaBifidaConnection-support forum for spina bifida. Truly a passion of mine to work with newly diagnosed families.
and now this…Elementary Spirits. As my family and friends know, Elementary Spirits has been hiding for a long time. I have struggled with how public to take it but you know, the reality is, we are so out there already, I don’t know what I think I am accomplishing by not blogging here full-time, except spreading myself thinner and thinner everyday. This little blog has sort of been my guilty pleasure, the one place I could write what was on my mind without fear of worrying about ads, marketing and so on. But ya know, I have a lot to say lately and some of that has to do with work, naturally, so I am putting “me” all in one place. A place where I can spout off to my friends, connect and pretend they are right here in my backyard sipping a cool drink with me. Yes, I guess I am that narcissistic to think that people may actually read my random thoughts on life. Hey, at least I know my mom will
As the explosion of blogging and social media happens I am learning I am my brand. I can’t really separate who I am from what I do since what I do is so personal. So, in the interest of full disclosure know that if you read a post on this blog mentioning a company, or you enter a giveaway here, chances are I was compensated in some way for that post. Be assured, I won’t ever post something I don’t believe in! So, consider yourself fully disclosed to.
