It’s 7:30 on a Friday and I am curled up with a glass of wine, a warm fire and my laptop. Doesn’t seem like they should go together but for me, having the luxury of some ‘down time’ to write just for me is at a premium.
Time is more precious than ever it seems this week and I am feeling spread thin. Like hospital sheet worn thin. Which speaking of, Carters next surgery is hopefully being rescheduled for the first week in Jan. Seems coordinating between two surgeons schedules and a lack of operating room time is more complex than it should be. But the blessing here is that barring any new infections, we may actually get to enjoy our holidays. He deserves that after all he has been through this year.We all deserve that.
Seems strange to have a somewhat quiet house at night. Connor seems to be gone most of the time now. I miss him but he is doing the teenage thing. School, friends, and the exciting news…the basketball team! We are so proud of him for just being the awesome kid he is.
I will be traveling a bit soon which I am sooo looking forward to. I was named to the Park City, Utah team of Snowmamas. Now, honestly, how many of you saw that coming? I will post my bio when it comes up online. It’s pretty hilarious if I say so myself. I am pretty sure I am the token non skier!
Along work lines I have accepted an official position with Mom It Forward as the Chief Connecting Officer. I always wanted to have a 3 letter C title. We have built a wonderful online community and I am really looking forward to continuing my journey helping to “change the world one mom at a time”.
Carters room is starting to be all sorts of awesomeness. I will post part 2 of the room decorating over the weekend. It has been so fun to be creative again.
For now I am going to go pour a second glass (don’t judge) and actually talk to that man that looks an awful like my husband and enjoy the wonderfulness of the first winter snow. Cheers!
