Exciting news! I have moved blogs. I am in the process of slowly moving all the posts over. Please join me at MomOffTrack.com.
In an effort to be more postive (instead of the bitter shrew I have been lately) about living in the frozen tundra beautiful state of Colorado, I decide to make a list of some of the things I do love about being here:
I love:
- That since moving here Carter is off all meds. He took the equivalent of three valiums a day for the seven years we lived in Vegas. Miraculously, he doesn’t need meds here at all. Says a lot for the calming environment here.
- Our home. Seriously, 5000 sq ft is not a lot to some people and more than enough to others. For us, it is just right. We have lots of space and how can you not love a home movie theater with stage theater seating? It is so perfect to curl up and watch family movies. I have the candy bar all set up with everyone’s favorites and bought a retro looking movie theater popcorn maker. I feel so comfortable in our home. It is perfect for us.
- The view from our house. I love watching the deer, fox, squirrels, owls, and various other creatures. As long as they don’t cross the property line it is a great thing to watch while having breakfast.
- Having Bob home at 5:30 most nights and very little traveling. I think he has been gone twice since July. He is not nearly as stressed either.
- National Sports Center for the Disabled in Winter Park. Read about our skiing and alpine sliding if you haven’t already.
- Indoor swimming. Now that just ROCKS. The club we belong to is so fabulous. Connor can rock climb while Carter swims. There are indoor water slides as well. The pool is zero entry and nice and warm. Carter is so comfortable there that he is really learning to swim.
- Connor having his first ‘girlfriend’ experience. Watching him the last 6 months has given me a glimpse into the type of man he will be. I like what I see!
- The milk man. Strange thing to be thankful for but on a snowy day there is nothing better than having fresh groceries waiting on your front porch.
- Not having found a pediatrician yet. Seriously, the boys have not needed a doctor since we have been here except the week after we moved for Carters staph infection.
- Watching how much Bob and Carter love it here.

I cannot get over the change in Carter!!! How great is that?! It sounds like the move was really the best for everyone! Conner with a girlfriend? I’m wondering what took you so long!
