Target Children’s Book Festival

Free activities for children and families

The Vegas Valley Book Festival is proud to announce the second annual
Target® Children’s Book Festival. This program, jam-packed with
activities for children and families, will be free to attend.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s planned:

•Book Pals presentation of Dr. Seuss, “The Lorax” (Readers Theater).

• Children’s story time, with celebrity readers, including Kevin
Janison (Weather Man, Channel 3), Kristi Holden and Brent Barrett
(Christine and the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera Las Vegas), and
Michael Goudeau (Lance Burton, Master Magician).

• Readings and book signings by local authors including Eric Blanc,
Carolyn Ahern, Mike Miller, Audrey Smith, Carla Masterson, Sandy
Hogan,Loppo Martinez, Kevin Janison, and Patricia Derrick.

• Free books and refreshments (while supplies last), Caricature
Artists, Face Painters, and Balloon Artists.

• Hands-on children’s activities from the Titanic and Bodies exhibits.
The exhibits themselves are currently on display at the Tropicana
Hotel and Casino.

• Readings and book sales from The Never Ending Story Bookshoppe, Las
Vegas’ only children’s book store.

• Literacy Specialists and information about literacy programs, from
Clark County Reads and the Clark County School District

• Library card signup, book exchange and book giveaways, courtesy of
the Las Vegas Clark County Library District

The Target Children’s Book Festival is a program of the VegasValley
Book Festival, which is presented by Nevada Humanities and the City of
Las Vegas. The VegasValley Book Festival runs Nov. 2-3, and is
centered in the Las Vegas Arts District. For more information about
