I came across this site the other day that has a monthly contest for kids to submit their original stories to. The stories are animated and published on the website. The site uses free animated musical cartoon books to get kids interested in reading. My boys enjoyed reading one about a polar bear that was written by another 11 year old. I am hoping that one of my kids will be ambitious enough to submit something one of these months but if not, it is really a great way for them to check out other kids ideas.
